Middlesex narra la storia, partendo dai nonni, del protagonista che a 14 anni cambia sesso (così comincia il primo capitolo). Man mano che la storia avanza, tutti i tasselli vengono messi al suo posto.
Punti positivi: la storia (soprattutto quella dei nonni e dei genitori), il realismo di fondo, la scrittura
Punti negativi: il soffermarsi troppo sui primi 18 anni del protagonista, sorvolando sul resto (tranne qualche accenno)
In generale é un bel libro, anche se ho apprezzato maggiormente la prima metà (quindi quando Callie/Cal non era ancora nato). Si legge molto bene, e come sempre Eugenides é un bravissimo scrittore.

Middlesex tells the story, starting with the grandparents, of the protagonist who changes sex at age 14 (so begins the first chapter). As the story progresses, all the pieces are put in its place.
Positive points: the story (especially the grandparents and parents), the realism of the background, writing
Bad points: The focus too much on the first 18 years of the protagonist, flying over the rest (except for some hints)
In general it is a good book, although I appreciated most the first half (when Callie / Cal was not born yet). It reads very well, and as always Eugenides is a talented writer.
